About “Here I Am To Worship”
Tim Hughes wrote the song in 1999 after reading Philippians 2 and reflecting on Christ willingly leaving his throne in heaven to sacrifice himself on the cross, though he struggled with the chorus for months before finishing it. He released it on his 2001 debut album of the same name, and it went on to become one of the most widely sung worship songs in the world. Hillsong first recorded it in a medley with Call on the 2003 live album Hope, and this recording, led by Reuben Morgan, was released on the Ultimate Worship compilation in 2005.
