About “It Is Well (Live)”
Horatio Spafford wrote the original hymn text in 1873 after his four daughters died in the sinking of the Ville du Havre in the Atlantic, and Philip Bliss set it to music. Kristene DiMarco's live arrangement for Bethel Music, recorded for the album You Make Me Brave, keeps the heart of the hymn while adding new chorus and bridge material of her own, which is why Spafford and Bliss carry posthumous credits alongside her. It became one of Bethel Music's most widely sung songs in churches.
