About “New Wine”
Written by Brooke Ligertwood, the song draws on Jesus' parable of new wine and wineskins, using the imagery of crushing and pressing in a winepress as a picture of surrender and transformation. Ligertwood has described it as a song about not becoming so attached to old wineskins that we refuse to let God give new ones in the appropriate season. It was recorded live at the 2017 Hillsong Worship and Creative Conference in Sydney.
