O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer - Live
About “O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer - Live”
Nathan Stiff was reading Psalm 19 and was struck by its closing words, and after finding almost no existing songs built on that phrase he set out to unpack what it means to call God Lord, rock, and redeemer. His first draft had a melody a colleague called good but not great, and only after a painful season in his family's life did he return to it, asking what it would sound like if he sang it like he meant it. The result was a melody carrying both pain and hope, recorded live on Sovereign Grace Music's album Prayers of the Saints (Live), released in November 2017.
