About “This I Believe (The Creed)”
In January 2014, historian John Dickson, then director of Australia's Centre for Public Christianity, publicly challenged Hillsong's songwriters to set the Apostles' Creed to music. Ben Fielding and Matt Crocker took up the request, working through many revisions to shape the ancient statement of faith into a congregational song. Fielding said they wanted it to be embracing and translatable across all the different expressions of the Church, just as the creed has been for centuries. It was released on Hillsong Worship's 2014 live album No Other Name.
