About “Thank You Jesus for the Blood”

Charity Gayle wrote the song at a songwriting retreat with her husband Ryan Kennedy and friends Steven Musso, David Gentiles, and Bryan McCleery, where the session began with each writer sharing what God had done in their lives. "We started by sharing what God has done for us and could truly say we were all lost but now we're found and we just HAVE to thank Him for it," Gayle recalled. As the melody took shape she was transported back to the church she grew up in in Buffalo, New York, where her dad sang and her grandmother played the organ. The song appeared on her album Endless Praise, released September 10, 2021.
